Yettel Bulgaria has equipped nearly 30 of its retail stores across major cities - including Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna - with specialized tactile floor strips to help visually impaired customers navigate safely and independently.
Developed in close partnership with the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria, the project was originally inspired by visually impaired employees who joined Yettel through its long-running "Side by Side" career program, dedicated to integrating people with disabilities into Yettel’s workforce. Realizing the daily navigation barriers their own team members faced, Yettel expanded accessibility from its headquarters directly to its retail network. Recognizing that hardware alone isn’t enough, the company is combining this physical rollout with specialized staff training. This ensures store teams are fully equipped to welcome, guide, and support sensory-impaired clients with empathy and professionalism, creating a truly inclusive environment.
Yettel will continue to expand it’s network of stores with tactile strips throughout the rest of 2026 and the beginning of 2027 as part of the store network redesign project.
